Rival Roots w/ Shore City – Sat, Oct. 7th @ 9pm
Rival Roots bursted onto the circuit with their own take of reggae. Influenced by classic Island dub and mixed with influences of hard rock, punk rock, traditional ska and hip hop. Rival Roots began in late 2013 with different faces and under a different name after about 2 years the faces changed but the sound stayed the same. Their music was recognized by most of the local scene and community allowing them to open for leaders in their genre such as reggae ska originators “The Skatalites” East Coast favorites “The Slackers” and the pride of the New York ska scene “The Toasters.”
Doing what they can to keep the punk rock and roll alive in the streets of Providence Rhode Island “Shore City” brings you back to the days of fresh guitar leads, circle pits, sing alongable lyrics and hard fast punk rock tunes. Influenced by some of the great pop punk bands of the 90s such as Nofx, Lagwagon, blink182 and No use for a name. Mike Moura (lead vocals/Bass) and Jack Graham (guitar/vocals) have tried diligently to encompass the 90s punk sound they grew up on. With addition of long time friend Chris Jordan (drums) an intense punk and metal drummer they have finally reached the pinnacle of their sound and style. If your one of the few still telling everyone that “punk rock is not dead!” Shore City will prove you right!
21+ Only. Doors: 9pm. $10 cover.
